The lesser panda is a small mammal found in the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China that mainly eats bamboo. At first glance, the little panda looks like a cross between a raccoon, fox and cat. Despite the name, the panda is not actually a bear at all. The lesser panda is a special species with the scientific name Ailuridae.
