Poster Savannah in ARTIS

Giraffes have been walking in ARTIS since 1856. Annie M.G. Schmidt probably walked around ARTIS regularly and was inspired by the giraffe's long neck. Her children's song Dikkertje Dap, from 1950, is set in ARTIS.
