Collectable penguin

The African penguin lives along the coasts of Namibia and South Africa. It hunts for fish in the sea and breeds in colonies on sandy soils and between rocks. A penguin lives to about 30 years old and eats 25 kinds of fish, 18 kinds of lobster and three kinds of squid. It has a strong black beak and a spiky tongue that provides a good grip on the often slippery prey. The African penguin and many other animals in their habitat are endangered. Climate change has changed the wave currents and there is less fish. ARTIS supports SANCCOB, which protects the penguins and returns them to the wild. The organization has rescued more than 100,000 seabirds since 1968.
