Poster of the Raccoon from ARTIS
€10,00
Poster with a print of the Raccoon in ARTIS. Illustrated by illustrator Annemieke Bunjes, known for the signage in ARTIS. The poster is printed on Tintoretto paper.
Raccoons have a noticeable black spot around each eye, which makes them look like they are wearing a mask. They also have a broad tail with four to ten black rings. They quickly move their front legs back and forth in the water to scare prey from under rocks. When they do, it looks like they are washing their hands. The Latin name, lotor, therefore means "the washer".
