Poster of Pampa in ARTIS
Poster with a print of the Pampa in ARTIS. Illustrated by illustrator Annemieke Bunjes, known for the signage in ARTIS. The poster is printed on Tintoretto paper.
Pampa is the name for a subtropical, natural grassland that is only found in South America. The pampa consists of fertile plains that differ, for example, in the degree of drought, and where all kinds of different animals occur. ARTIS was inspired by this to house all kinds of South American plant species such as the pampas grass and various animal species, such as the great anteater, vicuña, llama, mara, capybara, crested coot and South American tapir. The Pampa was opened in 2004 by Her Royal Highness Queen Maxima, then still a princess.
